Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and client focused General Dentist to join our expanding dental team in our Lilydale dental clinic on a part time (three days per week), ongoing basis. This position gives you the opportunity to enjoy flexibility in your work life and make a real difference to support and promote positive dental health within our local community.
About the role:
An experienced member of the team you will provide evidence based, high quality, safe, patient/client centred care that meets best practice standards within a Community Health setting.
Working as a part of a close-knit and supportive team, you will treat clients with a diverse range of needs in accordance with Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) Community Dental Program Guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:
- Provide general dental service to Inspiro clients
- Provide general guidance and support for clinical staff as directed by the Senior Dentist to drive clinical capability and service outcomes
- Deliver safe, ethical and high-quality dental services, accurate diagnosis and client centred treatment planning
- Ensure high levels of customer service by undertaking duties in a professional and timely manner when dealing with clients and the public
- Maintain and process patient records in accordance with DHSV Clinical Record Standards and the Health Records Act 2002
- Adhere to and comply with Inspiro’s best practice infection Control Guidelines
- Provide professional guidance and support for dental auxiliaries, assistants, clerical staff, less experienced dentists and any volunteers/students assisting the dental program
- Ensure the appropriate referral of clients for specialist services.
About You:
- Current unrestricted APHRA registration
- Ionizing Radiation Apparatus Operating License in Victoria
- Demonstrated experience and skill in a wide range of dental assessment procedures, treatments and activities for children and adults
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and supervision to clinical support staff and work as part of a team
- High level communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate empathy
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability with an evidence-based approach to decision making
- Ability to demonstrate organisation and planning skills
- Experience working in small to medium sized oral health teams.
Essential
To be the successful candidate you must:
- meet the position requirements,
- undertake a current Police Record Check,
- hold an Employee Working with Children Check.
Inspiro may request additional background checks subject to current legislation.
Desirable
Ideally you will have:
- Experience as a dentist within the public oral health system
- An understanding of public dental policies and practices
- Good computer skills including word processing and Titanium Dental Software
- Knowledge of a second language and culture would be an advantage
- Willingness to undertake continuing personal and professional development
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive a range of vehicles as required.
