With just under half of all women in the Yarra Ranges either sedentary or participating in low levels of physical activity, Inspiro’s Step and Connect Yarra Ranges project has been designed to encourage local women to get active.
Walking is an excellent way to improve or maintain overall health and wellbeing. Along with the physical and mental wellbeing benefits, walking is great for social connection and independence and can also help reduce our carbon footprint.
Following the success of Step and Connect Lilydale, Inspiro will launch 4 additional free women’s social walking groups in partnership with Mooroolbark, Mt Evelyn, Olinda, and Selby Community Houses. The walking groups will focus on offering a welcoming space for women to meet new people, enjoy being active in local parks and trails and to connect with their local Community House.
The walks will commence the first week of Term 2, 2025 starting Tuesday 22nd April. Sessions include:
Tuesday
- 9.30am- 10.30am. Mooroolbark Community House. Weekly walk
- 11am – 12 noon. Mt Evelyn Community House. Weekly walk
Wednesday
- 11am – 12 noon. Olinda Community House. 4th Wednesday of the month
