Exercise Physiology is like having a personal guide to exercises that can make you feel better. It’s not about doing hard exercises but finding the right ones for you.
If you’re recovering from an injury, managing a health condition, or just wanting to feel better physically, an Exercise Physiologist can create a personalised plan for you. These exercises not only help our bodies but also make our minds feel happier and less stressed.
To take on an exercise program can be quite overwhelming at first, but our Exercise Physiologist takes a holistic approach to ensure you find a starting point and work from there – and is by your side the whole way!
So, Exercise Physiology is like having a friend who knows the best exercises for us, making us feel better inside and out.
Here are some of the most common exercises prescribed (please check with your own healthcare professional before starting):
Cardiorespiratory:
- Walking 5-10 mins every second day or as tolerated
- 2 x week (non-consecutive days)
- Start with 2 sets of 8-10 reps then gradually build
Sit to stand off a chair x 10
Banded back horizontal rows x 10
Steps x 10
Wall push-ups x 10
Floor bridges x 10
