We have a number of DA roles available for experienced, client focused Dental Assistants.
Join our busy dental team on a part time or full time permanent basis, or as a casual after hours (at our Tuesday night clinic which runs 4.30pm till 7:30pm), or as a casual Monday-Friday or on a short term contract basis.

About the role:
Working in our Lilydale dental clinic you will provide effective chair side assistance to the dentists and oral health therapists by means of evidence based, high quality, safe, patient centred care that meets best practice standards within a Community Health setting.

Position Responsibilities:
In this role you will:
- Provide clinical chair-side assistance to dental operators in accordance with public dental clinical standards and policies
- Ensure facilities and dental equipment within the clinic are of a high standard according to Inspiro’s infection control policy and guidelines, and stores are maintained at an appropriate level
- Monitor and comply with sterilisation procedures in accordance with recognised standards
- Comply with best practice infection control guidelines and conduct audits as requested
- Actively contribute to maintaining a safe workplace
- Understand and ensure public dental policies, practices and guidelines are adhered to within the clinic
- Ensure storage, packaging and collection of infectious waste/sharps in accordance with recognised waste control policy
- Ensure the processing of dental digital radiographs and pouring up of impressions as required
- Receive and record any feedback from clients, carers, or members of the community
- As part of a team approach to service delivery staff may hold responsibility for across service activities (a portfolio approach) such as rostering, ordering of supplies, infection control, auditing, maintenance etc.
- Participate in Inspiro’s continual quality improvement program including the development of new practice models and community development approaches
- Participate in the creation of a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and the community in line with Inspiro’s commitment to cultural diversity and inclusiveness.
About You:
You will have:
- Ideally a recognised Dental Assistant Certificate III Accreditation and/or Badge issued by the Council of Australian Dental Association
- Evidence of recent practice, skills and training in infection control procedures that meet National Infection Control standards
- Advanced level of clinical competence in all applications and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Great communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated empathy
- A high level of initiative as well as being able to undertake delegated or assigned tasks
- Good organisational skills with the ability to set priorities.
Essential
To be the successful candidate you must:
- meet the position requirements,
- undertake a current Police Record Check,
- hold an Employee Working with Children Check, and
- meet the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements.
Inspiro may request additional background checks subject to current legislation.
Desirable
Ideally you will also have:
- An understanding of public dental policies and practices
- Good computer skills including word processing and Titanium Dental Software
- Knowledge of a second language and culture would be an advantage
- Willingness to undertake continuing personal and professional development
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence and the ability to drive a range of vehicles as required.
